What is SAP?
SAP was founded in 1972 and is a major German software company headquartered in the German city of Waldorf. SAP is the world's largest supplier of ERP software and related business applications. SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing.
The ERP system, or ECC, is the collective expression of SAP's functional and technical modules. They enable companies to manage business processes through a unified system, including e.g. accounting, sales, production, HR and inventory. The integration ensures that information flows from one SAP component to another without the use of redundant data entry while ensuring financial, process and legal control.
ECC is the local version of SAP and is usually implemented in medium and large companies. For smaller companies, it is possible to use the SAP Business One ERP platform.
